How to Plan the Perfect Business Event

You own a company and want to put on a business event but have no idea where to start. Well, don’t worry because you’ve come to the right place because this article covers everything involving business events and how to plan them.

Jot Down Ideas

The first step to planning the perfect business event is to make a note of any ideas you have for it. This can range from themes you might have, to what activities you might want to put on, to all the little added extras you want to include. You can even involve some others who work with you, such as business partners or investors, and ask them to have their say on the event as there are bound to be some ideas that they can think of that might not have entered your mind.

Look at Venues

It’s highly unlikely if you are planning a business event that you are going to want to hold it at your office block, so you may want to get looking at venues you can hold this event. It’s worth bearing in mind, however, that most venues are booked quite far in advance, so you are going to want to get a booking sooner rather than later. Having said that, most added extras you might want to go for, such as catering, may also be booked quite far in advance, particularly if you want this event to happen on the weekend, so you are going to want to plan far ahead and be prepared to receive a few knockbacks.

Promoting the Event

A big part of any corporate event is promoting it. You aren’t just going to invite the people who work within your business or who are already invested in it. You’re going to want to invite others, such as potential investors or people from the wider community who may have previously helped with your business in some way or who you may think have an interest in your business. Promoting can take quite a lot of time and you’re going to want to give people plenty of notice beforehand, so they can make sure they don’t make other plans.

Get an Event Planner

Of course, if you don’t have the time for all that, which is a high possibility if you’re running a business, you can always hire a business event planner to plan your event for you. You will still be kept in the loop of the event, such as in what you want from it, but the event planner will be the one doing all the work, such as finding venues, catering, and essentially, anything you need to source for your event, the planner will do it for you. This means it will go from you spending all your time planning the event to you being able to focus more on your business and only need to have quick meetings with your planner to have your say on everything without having to do too much of the work.

Of course, hiring an event planner will cost a bit extra, so you need to ensure you have enough money in the budget to pay for them. However, if you have this money and can budget for it, it’s worth looking into getting an event planner to help you take care of everything.
